Happy Mom's day to all you Moms

Well it was a great weekend for the most part. We finished most of the work at the camp and then we went to Williamsport to visit with family and friends. That visit was everything we thought it would be. The wife had a great dinner with her Mom and with her kids. Then on to the hospital to see her Father. It was a good visit as its been over five months since we have been there. The weather was great and the rain held off until we were almost all the way home. Now it is time to get everything back on track at home. That will be my job tomorrow.

Well I went back to walking today.I did about three miles but it felt pretty good. I had no pain to speak of. Maybe tomorrow I can go further. I want very much to get back to where I was before I injured myself. I have goals I have set and I want to accomplish them before the summer is over.

Thursday night we will go to our camp and spend about three days there. It will be good to get away for awhile. Then on Sunday we will take a trip to Williamsport. It will be good to see family and friends once again. Besides its Mother's Day and the wife is taking her Mom out for lunch.

Well hopefully I can get back to walking tomorrow. I gave my hip about four days to rest and it seems to have helped. I will try to get out tomorrow morning and see what happens. I will take it easy at first and see that I have no pain.

Today I mowed grass and got that taken care of. I have a wood chuck in the back yard that has dug a crater so I fill that in as best I could. He will probably just dig it back out. I have some things in mind if he does.........I will screen the hole the next time. That should stop the digging.

Well my walking is done for a little while anyway........I pulled a muscle near my left hip and it causes me some pain when I walk. So I will rest it a few days and then see how things go. I was almost ready to do the whole trail but I guess I will have to put that off for the time being.

Today I am just relaxing and spending a little time alone. My wife is off to a bridal shower so I get to spend some time alone. I will relax some and read I think.

Have a great weekend.

Well I reached the five mile mark yesterday. It felt good to reach that mark but I sure paid for it today. I was sore when I started out but it went away after a little ways. I only did about 4 miles today. I will get back to it next week.

This is a look along the trail from Gargoyle Park. It is a very pretty trail to walk early in the morning.

Well I got out and walked again this morning. I walked all the way into the city. It seems strange to walk so far and not see anyone else. I walked over four and a half miles this morning and didn't see but two other people. It was chilly and that seems to keep people from walking. Once the sun came out it was rather nice actually. I'm going to have to take my camera along someday and get some pictures along the river. It really is quite nice there. It is fun watching the animals and birds also.

It was a great weekend. I got a lot done. It rained pretty hard yesterday but today the sun came out and it was just an all around great day. Tomorrow is suppose to be a rainy Monday all day. That will make walking take a second fiddle unless I walk at the mall. I haven't walked there for quite a while now so maybe I will just wait and see what happens.

It will soon be time to get the mower out and get it started up. I looked at the grass today and its up there pretty good. You either mow it or plow it here I guess.

Well the radiation treatments have started. The first one was yesterday. There doesn't seem to be any adverse affects at this point in time. Maybe she will even miss the fatigue they say will come.

I made my first goal today walking. I hit the four and a half mile mark. I figure by next week I will be able to do the whole trail. That is the goal I set when I first started walking there. I can do four and half miles in  about an hour and twenty minutes or so. I want to be able to do the whole trail which is five and a half miles in around an hour and a half. I hope I can do it anyway.

Have a great weekend.

Well the radiation was put off for one day.It will start tomorrow with the first session. I sure hope it doesn't make her too sick or too tired. We also ran in someone else who has cancer today at the cancer center. My sister in law was also there. She isn't handling this quite as well as everyone has said she is. That is just a personal observation.

As far as the walking goes. I'm up to almost four and a half miles now, It won't be long until I finally reach the goals I have set for myself. I go just a little farther each day. I can do what I do now in a little or an hour. So five and a half miles in an hour and a half seems very attainable at this point.

Well things are going along quite nicely here. The weather has changed for the better and now I can get outside some. I walk about every morning and hope to do five miles befoe too long. I am up to over three and a half miles now. The excerise has brought my sugar down and that is good news. I hope it works for other things as well. It gets quite lonely on the trail in the early morning. I only saw two other people today.

Tomorrow I will work in the back yard and try to get that fixed up some. Then we will do a couple of food deliveries for people who are up against it. It sure is a blessing to do that.
